This tower not having a real chance of being built isn't surprising to me, but what is surprising is that during SXSW they never leased out this entire half-block for something, even public parking.

I changed the status to "On Hold" since Wilson himself said that in an ABJ article a couple weeks ago. Wilson's 28-story West Braker tower is also on hold.

Agreed, they bit off more than they can chew. A shame we lost Avenue Lofts only for this sit to undeveloped for whoever knows long.

I really liked the Deco Avenue Lofts. Why would any..uhm..reasonable company demolish DT Austin housing until the permits and financing for the build are in place? Just the rental income would be very valuable. Some very big egos must have been involved.

Please come back to life. Except for the lobby, this building is amazing. Lobby rendering is pretty bad.

If a tower is built on this site it will not be by Wilson! And, I don't care what an article said...this project is far closer to "dead" than "on hold." Wilson cannot get financing. That was the real (true) reason for the initial height reduction...not the economy. He's had financial issues with other, smaller projects already.
