When I saw the thread title and then part of the rendering, for a moment I had palpitations over the possibility they were tearing down the beaux arts station itself. But no (Thank G*d). As an addition, on the other side of the actual tracks, it's pretty nice.
Having grown up in DC and suburbs and lived in Baltimore for 4 years, I can't resist comparing Penn Station to DC's Union Station. Both are beautiful IMHO but Union Station has always had the benefit of being practically across the street from the seat of the federal government and heavily used by the people whose hands are in the money spigots. Its nice to see Penn Station getting some love.
