The image makes it look like the building is called "Living"... Am I the only one that sees the irony that the building is next to a funeral home. Maybe it's just a dark joke by the artist.

They just need to add ‘Dead’ in same design to the funeral home so no one gets confused on where to go....

I remember this! They tore down Weekends and the Bar on Peachtree to develop it, then the Australian based company filed for bankruptcy. This was to be where the Federal Reserve is now - before they ever thought of leaving Downtown. LOL, I remember all of that and more. I am 67...

Thx,,,those were amazing memories...I remember the Gallus on Cypress, now that area is so dense it is mind boggling, one who lives in ATL then would be hard pressed to find where it once stood..

What is so interesting to me is that, although midtown has exponentially increased in density, there seemed to be amazing nightlife options within a stone's throw of each other back then. Nowadays. it seems like the nightlife has been scattered throughout town and is not as varied....

Yeah, it was totally different back then as far as nightlife - especially gay. And do I ever miss the Gallus! People that didn't live here or are too young to know would freak that an actual Northern style townhouse existed in that spot! And Sunday brunch was SO much fun.

Sorry I've been a poor job of keeping up. Can someone tell me what the latest on the Cheetah property is, and the FDA building? Cheetah was sold, yeah? Any plans for it? Is it still open?

Last I heard, a few months ago, it was suggested the cheetah property didn’t sell, and the sons who inherited the property, indicated they have no interest in selling. I think the FDA property was marketed but never sold, I gather because their office consolidation plans have not been finalized

I think this is correct.

The Cheetah property was under contract with a developer until the owner died. His children chose to not sell the property.

The FDA was scheduled to move to a new location in the '21-'22 time frame and had chosen to move to Ft McPherson. The problem is that the Ft McPherson redevelopment has turned into a total cluster of backroom shenanigans. I haven't read anything about where the FDA deal stands.
