Yep.
Chicago's recent crop of office towers are pretty damn girthy, which can throw off the proportions a bit compared to more svelte residential towers like One Bennet Park, especially when viewing them in photographs.
And like you said, on top of that, chicago (along with NYC) is one of only two US cities where an 817' tall skyscraper isn't a skyline standout. In any other US city (not including NYC), this building would be in the top 5, but in chicago, it's currently only the 17th tallest building in the city, and will drop to 19th in the near future once One Chicago and Salesforce are topped out.
To put that into perspective, Detroit's 19th tallest building is the 366' tall Buhl Building.
