Highly doubt anything that tall in the first pic will be built in that part of town anytime soon.

Here's a real new project in the pipeline.  Greystar (Ascent Midtown, Ascent Peachtree ) has filed a planning permit for a multi-family development on the site at the corner of Peachtree and 17th street.

In all fairness, this time he did clearly point out that the renderings were from marketing materials for the site. It's good to know the site is for sale but IIRC the FDA will be there a couple more years.

The Greystar site at 17th and Peachtree is pretty compact (assuming they're not destroying the recently renovated WeWork building). Since it's listed at greater thank 250K sqft, this could be a pretty dense development.

I was wondering why didn’t they just purchase the land across the street than I saw Dewberry's name.

Oh looky, looky... being anal about parking can have some perks: you can make an ASSumption and answer it in the same paragraph.

Midtown's skyline is getting taller on the northern end. Now if we can just get taller building around BOA in SoNo, the city's skyline would be truly rocking.

Maybe land prices or the increasing scarcity of prime real estate is pushing developers to build taller towers.

Yes, this will provide much needed parking improvements for those restaurants. This should be viewed as a positive as they rely on people being able to park and eat for business.

Counter argument being there is not and will not be a dearth of parking available in the immediate vicinity.
