Phase 2 of True North Square

True North Real Estate Development, in conjunction with Northland Properties Corporation of Vancouver, confirmed details of the second phase of the mixed-use development at True North Square today. Northland announced it will break ground on The Sutton Place Hotel and its residential tower in spring/summer 2018, around the same time as the completion and occupancy date for Tower 1 at 242 Hargrave.

Oh wow. Those are really nice towers for Hamilton. They would really help change the face of the skyline.

It has a very international flare to it from the 60s 70s. I like it a lot well done. Canada is pulling above it's weight for our population. Every Canadian city has great stuff going on right now we should all support and be proud of.

Like it as well, although I wish they would just keep a consistent pattern for the entire building. Has this cross-spandrel ever turned out well?

36 floors * 121 m * 397 ft * Tricon Capital

This is a shorter plan then the original proporsal for this site so if approved this fall they can start building this as soon as all of their permits are in place.

From that first rendering I thought the Petro Canada was integrated into the podium

Very nice tower overall, though. The proportions are pleasing to the eye.

It will be one of the top 5-6 tallest buildings in the city, although there are other buildings under construction (Horizon Place 10 stories, FiveFive Queen 9 stories), under development (Hilton Hotel, Tannery Place) or proposed (Shannex) which will increase the stock. Moncton is in a bit of a building boom right now.

The tallest building in town is Assumption Place -20 stories. The tallest structure downtown is the NBTel Tower - a concrete microwave communications tower from the 1970s. It's the equivalent of a 35 storey building.
