It would be nice to have some rezoning south of the track and north of Sask drive for some restaurant bars heading towards Albert street for before and after the games.

That would be great but not likely I'd think. Isn't it all light commercial south of the tracks?
Dewdney isn't far, neither is downtown. If they do that green strip going east towards downtown and the dewdney strip then that ties the stadium into some nightlife.

Ridiculous and you know it. You're making something out of nothing for the sake of making something out of nothing because it's a top notch stadium and there's nothing to complain about. It's a wise choice of exterior finish, for when you decide to throw eggs at it, it will be easily hosed off.
I love that my hometown built something really good, I know Calgarians would take one of those please, just make it red and white.

The exterior is fine. Besides that, it was built with public funds. Other publicly-funded facilities in this country pale by comparison.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The above picture makes it look really good and works well with the interior colour. You obviously think differently but its a free country after all.

Have any of you actually been near the thing? That very low resolution photo does not do justice to the low quality finish that was used.

And saying it was public funds is not an excuse to cheap out on materials that will be around for 50 years. It would have been a lot better to spend $283 million to get a higher quality exterior finish.

I go by the stadium every day on my way to work. I see nothing wrong with the finish. At least not to the level that makes you comment on it every chance you get.

It looks great from far, certainty not as nice up close as I'm not a huge fan of the siding used, but at the end of the day it's not that big of an issue anyway.

The in stadium experience should be incredible & that's really what counts.

If the TSN commentators say stuff like that, then that's good enough for me.

But you see, the people who care, go to sporting events, and are paying the bulk of the cost, will be inside the stadium so they wanted the money spent on the actual game experience.

Those who don't care about sports and bitched about the cost of the stadium can look at the exterior and thank themselves for it being cheaply designed.
