Finally the sidewalk along Robson is getting done. They're also jackhammering in the alley. I wonder if the alley will get the herringbone paver treatment like under the arch along Georgia.

I really hope they stick to the original plan of herringbone tiles in the alley but like everything else with this building, it's best to expect surprises - aka - asphalt.

Although these days they can create many interesting patterns, even ones that look like pavers, with stamped asphalt.

DON'T give them any ideas, the design team may be sleuthing still...

this tower is the epitome of being sold a building fitted out like a Maybach but delivered something along the lines of a base model smart car.

Haha, the cost estimators for the developers would have chosen that already if cost savings were the direction they are heading towards.

Better with patterned stamped asphalt than just ordinary asphalt paving though.

I'm still bitter we lost out on the warm coloured stone panels that were supposed to be a major design element of the tower and podium in the original renders. You can still see one of the renders in the thread title box at the top of the page. In contrast with the original white and grey trim it would have been a nice clean and tidy break from the usual architectural junk we get. Now it's just a seafoam, cheap looking mess. I'm hoping we get some buildings built with some dark brown or bronze coloured windows again. enough of the cold blue/green/grey colour palates we have had in the past 2 decades.

First occupants to move in in about 2 weeks

Just spoke to someone at Westbank and they have put a stop to the assignments of contact in the building as it is now so close to completion. First home owners are likely to be moving in within the next few weeks or so. There are likely to be quite a few listings on the market after that and I will try and post some interior and exterior pictures from the untis!

I totally feel ya! Been lamenting the day I saw that seafoam slab. Hope the developers get criticized by buyers for that. False advertisement should be considered illegal no matter the fine prints.

I was really in to the colours of TG when it was proposed too. The tones were such a nice change of pace colour-wise. When the seafoam green panels started to go up, I wasn't surprised. This isn't the first building to advertise one colour only to change it to seafoam green, and it won't be the last.

Over the years, I've learned to loathe that colour.

So the doors to the [bank?] on the right of the pic are swing out doors - you can see the handles. Won't they swing over the public sidewalk?
The doors to the office lobby - centre - are sliding doors.
The doors to the left are set back so won't swing out over the sidewalk.

And if they are swing out doors, they are at the worst place along the sidewalk, right where the public washroom sits which creates a pinch point in pedestrian traffic.

Here's another look at the doors on Robson from today, starting at the Robson/Richards corner and going west.
