The model is probably based on the original renderings. I doubt that they'd go to the trouble of building a new model.
Anyway, it was mentioned by one of the admins a year or two ago in the UT thread, then repeated again a few months ago. They don't yet know how the tower will resolve but the roof will supposedly be flat.
