As long as we don't go to Toronto's new system -

So, when the Broadway extension is built the entire line needs to be renamed from "the Evergreen - Millennium line" to "the Evergreen - Millennium -Broadway line"?
then when the line is extended to UBC it becomes "the UBC - Evergreen - Millennium - Broadway line"?

It seems to be easier to call it all the Millennium Line, regardless of when each extension was built, since it was intended to be all built at the same time (as LRT - until Clark had his tour of Bombardier's plant in Ontario).

Phase II is the "Evergreen Extension of the Millennium Line" (under construction), then
Phase III is the "Broadway Extension of the Millennium Line" (to Arbutus?), then

I've never really thought it sounded dated. It's just another station to me. Then again I didn't really start using the Canada Line until after the Olympics, so it never had that connection for me.

Thanks for the photos, adrianroam95! It looks like they have completed two segments and now finishing up the third since the last time I saw in August 14 (wherein they were just about to start above Cochrane).

It looks like the gantry will be above Austin on or just before the end of the month, and Gatineau Place by first week of September (or second week since its a short week).

Once they get south of Gatineau place, what's going to happen to Whitespot? You can see on this diagram it crosses right over top of it at the bottom of the picture. Will you have a Legendary burger with a side of Evergreen line support column??

The column is already in place in their parking lot and White Spot continues to serve customers. I assume they came to some sort of monetary arrangement for the use of the land, probably very similar to the several support columns going through the Home Depot parking lot just inbound of Gilmore Station.

Expect "branding" as Evergreen Line from VCC-Clarke to Lafarge Lake. It would be just too ridiculous to have 'Millenium Line' running on this new route when for a dozen years trains with the same name went in an entirely different direction.

Additionally, there would be partisan political points for the current provincial government to diminish or eliminate "Millennium Line."

But of course Translink has done ridiculous things in the past...

Completely agree. It would make no sense to brand it as Evergreen. Translink, no doubt, prefers Millennium line. Evergreen was a dumb name from the start and doesn't make me think of the tri-cities (or anything, really).

Great shots!

Good to see the pocket track too - but it makes me wonder why it's there if there's a vehicle storage facility a couple of kilometres away near Falcon Drive.

It's not an obvious place to short-turn trains, is it?
I suppose it's the first WCE stop coming from the west, but the pocket track is west of the Port Moody Station - so it would be more useful for the short-turning of trains coming fom the east
(i.e. future Port Coquitlam trains? - but why wouldn't you short-turn those at Coquitlam Central, which also has WCE?)

They may have also decided to build it at that location because it's a centre platform and could easily fit between the guideways.
