Our expectations have just changed. It seems like just a few years ago, on this very forum we were looking at pics/renderings of our "future skyline" if all the proposed projects got built, and those images of "the future skyline" didn't even look as amazing as the actual pics above. Now that it's reality and we're used to it, we've got a different goalpost and we're comparing ourselves to a higher level of skyline.
Not to mention things like the boardwalk, the trees along the lake, and even the lake itself (if you go back far enough). It wasn't that many decades ago where the angle of the above pics would show a whole lot of nothing, with something resembling a creek running through it.
It's still pretty amazing to me.
