That roof always scared the sh#t out of me at games, It really doesn't look like it should be able to stay up like that. I think I'll feel a little less intimidated by it when football starts again haha.

The south side stands also gave me the creeps as well. Probably 95% of the events I attended at Frank Clair I sat on the south side. I always had the sense that that entire structure wasn't all that solid.

I was actually at the soccer game where the Wikipedia picture was taken:

I couldn't agree more. When I was at 67's games or the random soccer events/tournaments held there in the recent past, you could feel the whole structure wobble and shake when the crowd were on their feet. An unsettling feeling when you have hundreds and thousands of tonnes of concrete above you.

Witht the two condo towers getting underway what ever happened to the townhouses? Anybody know if they are still planned and when they might be released?

I heard they will be released in the Spring this year from the sales person on site.

I always liked the large roof. As for how it stands up, my guess it has deep foundations below each structural member and the football stands/arena roof combined with the large roof structure form an A (strong shape)

The City is waving the noise Bylaw for Lansdowne and "Les Soueurs de la Visitation" to allow work until 1 am.

I can see the logic (deadlines) for Lansdowne, but this won't go well with the good people of the Glebe. They might be a bunch of NIMBYs, but will understand once they flip out.

As for "Les Soueurs de la Visitation", that's a private development and should not get any preferential treatment when it comes to noise exemption.

Well isn't that just too damn bad.

During the court case, they would remind us that if we'd had the competition, the park would have been fully renovated by then. Well, if they hadn't slowed this project down with their pointless lawsuit and appeal, construction might well be over by now. No sympathy.
