What happen if the switch at Bridgeport has a problem? Then YVR or Richmond section will be segregated from the rest of the line. Bridgeport station will quickly overflow with people.

UBC students by common sense should avoid Canada Line and take #480 during AM rush. However given the lower mid-day frequency of #480, still expect a lot of UBC students to use Canada Line throughout the day.

Northwest corner? I was hoping for something along the east of Cambie. It could also make a nice pedestrian tunnel-crossing if they provision space for it (separate from the fair-paid zone).

Also, I forgot to mention Waterfront. Do they always have personnel directing traffic on the platform? It would be nice if they used one track for YVR trains and the other track for Richmond trains, as opposed to having a storage track.

When I was there the TVM's at VCC were having issues with change, the one refused to take anything but exact and the others didn't take any coins no matter what. Cards seemed to be functioning fine at that point.

I took the 620 from the Ferry to Bridgeport station today. While the signs on the buses and at the terminal said "620 Bridgeport Station" there was no one there explaining the changes to boarding passengers and the bus driver never mentioned the change. Lots of people got off at Ladner Exchange to transfer to the 601 only to reboard the bus again when another passenger told them where to go.

Also noticed that there are signs when you are merging onto highway 99 after the bus lane starts reading "yield to buses on left when flashing"

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but I'll bet vehicle traffic at Cambie and Marine is going to significantly slowed by the amount of pedestrian traffic. If the C-Line hadn't been built down to a price, we would have seen access to Marine Dr. Station from the north side of Cambie, as well as the south.

It's going to feel so weird seeing a #351 - Bridgeport sign starting tomorrow :O So long, #351 - Vancouver. Hope we get more buses soon though.

also the Golden Ears Bridge, is also way off its projection as well... p3 are wrong for BC

#17 route is still 17 Downtown not 17 UBC via Downtown

Not sure whether that was mentioned before. But I came across the following bit of interesting info. at Buzzer blog:

" .... the comment thread discussed why the train curves at 33rd Avenue, and it is actually due to volcanic rock in Queen Elizabeth Park. Did you know it sits upon an extinct volcano(http://www.littlemountain.ca/about_history.html)? And that it was originally mined for basalt(http://vancouver.ca/parks/parks/queenelizabeth/history.htm)? .... "

I never know Little Mountain is an extinct volcano!

I wasn't able to snap a good photo or anything but the Richmond-Centre Bus-loops have been updated with new signage in preparation for the new bus routes. They now show the bay you're at, where the adjacent bays are located and the estimated arrival times for the respective buses at your stop. Pretty nifty.

A quickie I noticed was that Shanghai River Restaurant is the ONLY nearby "attraction" listed. Wonder how they figured that into the maps!?? This Translink Map is proudly sponsored by Shanghai River Restaurant!??

It will take some time before all the signs/maps can be fully updated throughout the system.
I walked by Granville Station today. Next to the ticket machines, 2 new maps shows the 'Canada Line' route but a 3rd old map a few feets away still shows the 98 B-line route.

ROFLMAO. This is beyond asinine.

It's a great map concept, but why on earth is there only one attraction on the map (which in my opinion, happens to be quite insignificant on the scale of things)? They didn't even label the mall.

Good idea! The sponsorship fee can help to recover the signage cost. That should help the cash-strapped Translink.

I never know Little Mountain is an extinct volcano!

Yea, unfortunately that's one of the reasons why they didn't go for a bored tunnel.

During cut and cover construction, they did several months of blasting before being able to pour in the concrete.

I think the cheapest and quickest way is to build elevated guideway along Cambie Street. Too bad this approach would never be approval due to opposition.

^ and just imagine the views we would have, it's already amazing south of Marine Drive.

It would also make the system more easily expandable.

Have it elevated from Marine Drive to just south of King Edward. People will also get amazing views of the city skyline and mountains just before the Cambie median ends.

On the bright side of things, we wouldn't have to worry too much about weathering and the elements taking a toll on the infrastructure in Vancouver, and the Vancouver section wouldn't be impacted by snow.
