"Orem-based developer Scott McQuarrie expects to unveil his plans for the $50 million theater
April 1 to Sandy's City Council. The city plans to announce its choice for venue operator the same night"
Ok guys we may want to keep a close eye on this April 1. I kind of like seeing two cities race for a new theater even though I would like to see the theater down because at least this way it moves the planning alot faster. Salt Lake is finally getting off their butts and doing something about it. As for Sandy, Sandy city is dreaming big. At this rate with BOTH cities pushing for the theater and showing no signs of backing down we could have a Theater open by next year. Hell we might even end up with two. From reading the paper it sounds like NO MATTER WHAT Salt Lake WILL get a Theater even if Sandy has ONE as well.
I do like the over all idea of Sandy could be getting a mix-use project with Condos and Offices towers that could be highrises. As well as retail on street level. However the Theater should be downtown. Sandy can still built their mix-use project without the theater. Or can they?
