Yes, pretty sure it also had one engine on each wing. Definitely seen that style of plane. Looked on the larger size like a 737 but clearly the wrong engine config for that. The plane also appeared to be mostly a lighter colour, like a grey, so UPS is likely out as aren't their planes the signature brown?

It has hard to get a good look as I was driving at the time and it was twilight making colours and markings harder to pick out.

Edit: doing a quick search, the configuration looked like it may have been a DC-10 which it seems FedEx may still be using on cargo runs. That would definitely fit as I didn't think any of the regularly scheduled passenger service flights were flying three engine planes currently.

Kelowna Flightcraft operates a couple of DC-10's for Purolator, and I do believe they stop in YWG every now and then.

At that time of day there is frequently a Kelowna Flight craft DC10 at the airport. UPS seems to use a mix of 757/A310/A300 lately.

At the time the aircraft was being built it was the largest titanium forging ever made.

Yes very true, this paragraph below explains how the WAA could save a bundle on the problem you mention as well as save taxpayers money on those costly runway rehab projects.
-----------

DuPont™ Perspective® herbicide is effective on many of the most challenging weeds, while maintaining native grasses. “You can make one application and know you’ll get good control and still preserve desirable grasses. Perspective® is even effective on weeds such as kochia that have developed resistance to other chemistries and are becoming harder to control.”

Dupont must be good alright. That would be like throwing a hand grenade into a crowd --- and killing only the bad guys.

WestJet may add regular flights between Winnipeg and Brandon and Winnipeg and Thompson over the next few years as it continues to expand its 10-month-old regional Encore service.

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/bus...255853811.html

Although 2-5 years away, as per WestJet, A very good move on connectivity in regards to regional access via air in Manitoba.

a direct to Vegas to compete with Allegiant out of GF or Fargo would be a smart business decision. I just got back from Vegas out of Fargo and although it's easy to do the 3.5 hr drive, it would be much nicer to do the 25 minute drive!

We already have a year long direct flight to Vegas though. I just don't see it as being that exciting.

How much does the flight out of Grand Forks cost compared to Winnipeg?
