You definitely should give Winnipeg some love on the diagrams page. I would myself but that is not my wheelhouse. Your Designs are very well done. The Human Rights museum, maybe? Or The Planned Portage Place towers, perhaps?
Both on the radar for sure Didn't have the skill to do something like a CMHR diagram back in the day, but always wanted to.

Which angle do we want for this beauty's diagram entry?

A:

B:

C:

If there's a favorite, or general indifference, I'll carry on fleshing out the model snapshot and then finish the compressed drawing.

Very cool, I like A & B in that order.

I'll be doing a sweep just like the glory days, by end of summer the WPG diagram should be up to date. I'll do a second drawing of B and make those the 2 angles I upload, diagram managers can pick the one they like more

Going from big renders down to pixel details is a bit of a PITA, but I have a method and the patience to have it turn out now I think

Becomes

Will upload on the weekend after I get my Diagram password reset again

I like option A.

We actually have had a few decently tall developments come through since the diagrams were last updated, seems like the last tall building that was added was the wawanesa building.

Solara Flats - Finished, 22 floors
Portage Place Phase 1 Tower - In development, 12 floors
Portage Place Phase 2 Tower - Proposed, 22 floors
Station Place 1 - In development, 16 floors
Station Place 2 - Proposed, 22 floors

Just realizing now how many developments in recent years are capped at 22 floors. Pain.

Some hard numbers for the Market Lands Tower if it's going on the list.

Top of parapet: 176' (53.7m)
Top of Penthouse: 187' (57.1m)

Portage Place Residential:

Top of high parapet: 244' (74.4m)
Top of low parapet: 230' (70m)
numbers are from the ground. The mall roof starts at 10.7m

Market Lands South is rising in the heart of the Exchange District - and it's unlike anything else being built in Canada right now.

9 storeys. 95 brand-new apartments. One of the first residential mid-rise buildings in the country to achieve the CAGBC Zero Carbon Building Design Standard. Built to run on clean energy, not fossil fuels.

This is what the future of housing looks like.

Opening 2026.

I'm reserving my judgement for after the installation of the bipv facade panels and for the completion of the landscaping.

It looks pretty normal to me. Which is disappointing after the whole design contest and the blank slate that was the site.

It looks like what would get built for a new clinic at HSC or possibly a slightly nicer than normal Holiday Inn you would find out near the airport.

It is horribly out of place where it is located.

You would have thought that they could have integrated something nicely with the Princess Street facades that they spent so much money to restore 20 years ago. This just shows them a blank side wall of a suburban apartment slab - hopefully the glass bit at the bottom redeems it somewhat.

I guess we have to wait to see the whole picture but so far it's a little disappointing.

It’s going to be a black building. I didn’t really make that connection.

If they're placing solar panels on the south facing wall, that would be interesting.

It would remind me of satellites from the 80's and 90's that are wrapped in solar panels. Self sustained power storage and delivery is pretty cool.
