Funny that they still have Sport Chek shown even though they moved into the mall 6 or 7 years ago lol.

Artist renders always take liberties with the surroundings.

Westdell has applied for zoning changes to allow for two additional apartment buildings on site.

Tower 1 was approved by council a couple years ago, and it will be located at the SW corner of the site (right at the corner at Fanshawe Park and North Centre).

Tower 2 will be located where the Beer Store is currently and it will be 22-stories with ground floor commercial/office space and 159 residential units above.

Tower 3 will be located approximately where Mark's Work Warehouse is, to the north of Tower 1, and it will be 20-stories with ground floor commercial and office uses, and 178 residential units above.

I believe they identified these additional towers in their long range plans for like 2030 thru to 2050. They still haven't submitted a detailed site plan application for tower one as far as I have heard. I would not be shocked to see them move on the proposal on Mornington Ave behind Oxbury Mall first in a couple of years. They still haven't done a mid-rise or high-rise building as a company as far as I can see.

LFP article with comments by ward councillor.

By the time these get built in the 2030's or 2040's they should be 35s plus tall towers.

City planning staff is recommending that Council approve the zoning changes that would allow for the two additional buildings.

This goes to the planning committee on July 16th and then to full council on July 23rd.

great location for density and height. Highrise proposals are popping up like toadstools on a lawn after a heavy rain.

Will be interesting to see how many of these we actually see come to fruition. Maybe my son will be able to snag an electrical apprenticeship finally lol.

According to an updated site-plan on Westdell's website, Dollarama is supposedly opening a new location in the vacant spot in the plaza where the first tower is supposed to be constructed (according to the site plans posted earlier in this thread)... so this means that we are years away from seeing this redevelopment occur.

Yeah Westdell is used to commercial and retail and they are likely in no rush to build residential even thou they have numerous proposals on their drawing boards. Sadly most of them have timelines of 2030, 2040 and beyond.
