How deep will they go on this one, the west tower is 120 meters so they should be going pretty deep in ground?

Not sure how deep exactly but there's only 2 level of underground parking.

Yup there may be a lot of disappointments but this project is one of the wins, and as Ottawa continues to transition from medium-big city to big city, there will be more wins to come. Now if only we could transit-plan like a real big city and not follow in the footsteps of our highschool dropout big brother, Toronto.

They only need to excavate as deep as the parking garage. They use pile drivers to get the foundation deep into bedrock.

interesting, I walked by and it looks deep for the West tower, this means they should be pouring the footing for crane shortly

Some good progress. Still disappointed they didn't propose at least a partial coverage of the tracks.

Cellphone pic from the Civic parking structure. Not sure if this is max height for the crane but looking pretty beasty already!

Are there two cranes up for the same site in center frame? Interesting that the one in the rear would be so much higher if so. I would expect a building this size to have its crane raised twice? over the course of the build. The tall one looks like it would almost be enough for its Claridge buddy down the road.

Side note.. from this vantage point the western skyline is going to fill in nicely.

I think that really tall one next to the portable crane has to be Gladstone Village, with Dreams the shorter looking one further back next to East Flats
