Hoping the public will be able to use the employee terrace at the back to at least walk through.

NCC is on a roll. Looks like they’re putting a food/drink vendor in the pavilion at Hog’s Back. https://x.com/ncc_ccn/status/1816505...vEQEDkSr6WmBsA

They also recently shared that a new Tavern on the ___ is going to be opening on Bate Island, along with a river-tubing activity:

Ottawa Turbo Tubing
This summer, Ottawa Turbo Tubing is offering lazy river activities on the Ottawa River. Participants will be guided all the way by qualified, open-water experts until they reach the drop-off area, after which they will be shuttled back to Bate Island.

Looks like it's going to be called Tavern on the Island. Love the inclusion of a river tubing activity. I don't believe we have something like this in Ottawa proper just yet.

Went by the Tavern on the Island on the day they opened just to look and came back the next day for a beer and burger. The burger was very good and the view of the city skyline is worth it.

Nice! Curious if you saw any rafting tours operating in the vicinity. Saw an IG ad from a local rafting company advertising free 30 min sessions to celebrate Tavern on the Island's opening. Haven't had a chance to check it out for myself yet.

We have a lot of Taverns, Bistros and Cafés now. NCC has been doing some excellent work over the last six or so years activating our parks and waterfronts.. Here's the full list. I was aware of the vast majority, but when you write it down, it's quite long.
  1. Tavern on the Hill
  2. Tavern by the Falls
  3. Tavern at the Gallery
  4. Tavern at the Lake Leamy
  5. Tavern on the Island
  6. Bistro at Confederation Park
  7. Bistro at Patterson Creek Park
  8. Bistro at Remic Rapids
  9. Bistro at 90 Wellington
  10. NCC River House
  11. Hog's Back Falls

Its pretty impressive what they've added this year alone. I wonder if its sustainable.

They are some really cool spots and I always suggest to friends, family or people visiting from out of town. I try to go frequently myself.

Didn't know there was one at Lac Leamy, thank you for that!

I don't think I knew about Leamy either.

I've been informed that the next ones will be at Westboro Beach (a Café and full service restaurant) and the Rockliffe Pavilion. I imagine those will open next year.

Rockcliffe Pav one will probably still be a bit, renovation project is only just starting or early in the process.
