So good to see that vacant lot gone. Hopefully the Cousins and Selig properties are next.

A few pics from this morning

This GA Tech housing is kinda looking like it may be a 5 over 1 (6 over 2).

I post this about every year and well.......why can't the city take this over and just open up the street, especially before World Cup? Also want the "Gulch" entrance be needed or used by Centennial Yards.

Thanks for the pics as usual. I’m almost certain this area will be used as an entrance for heavy machinery for the gultch from the highway. There really is not a good way to get down there, so they are delaying finishing this area to allow the opening and passage of large construction traffic. I believe this will be ‘closed’ until the podium of the centennial yards is mostly completed

What is this going to be on Spring St? Hope it is not a mid-rise or 5 over 1. Seems this should be too valuable property for that.

Peachtree and 6th

Peachtree and 4th

It could be part of the 15th Street extension. It's listed as being under construction on the Midtown Alliance website.

So ATL is going to extend 15th to Spring St and then Williams St? Looks a tad tight for 4 or 5 lanes from W.Peachtree to Spring St.

Project Overview
This project would be a multi-modal connection that extends 15th Street from its current end point at West Peachtree Street two blocks west to Williams Street. The entire extension would be implemented on GDOT right-of-way, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming land acquisition.

The proposed roadway design between West Peachtree Street and Spring Street would include a three-lane section consisting of one through lane in each direction and dedicated left-turn lanes approaching Spring Street and West Peachtree Street. The proposed lane section west of Spring Street would consist of a single through lane in each direction. Travel lanes are proposed to be 11-feet wide. Additionally, the new cross-section would consist of 5-foot tree planting/furniture zones, 5-foot sidewalk-level bicycle lanes, and 10-foot sidewalks on both sides of the street. The bicycle lanes would provide a direct connection to the Arts Center MARTA Station and existing and proposed developments as well as other bicycle routes.

The construction contract was awarded to the low bidder Reeves Young, LLC on December 8, 2023. NTP was issued on March 18, 2024 with an 18-month contract duration for construction to be substantially complete by September 9, 2025.

Wow! They aren't playing to get projects done for the World Cup. That extension is going to be nice.

They are going to have to mine right through a rock outcropping to get it the last block to Williams. I wonder if the people planning this even know— or if their decision would change if they did. It's huge. Could build a mini-park around it instead. And the cost for mining it has to be enormous.

Do they plan to extend it all the way down? I don't see a need unless they were capping the interstate.

To William's St and most important another major artery to The Connector north. This also will offer more access to the lots on both sides and add to their value.
