Calgary and Edmonton from less than 100,000 each to ~1.5M today. Edmonton has become a bigger deal since building the 800 footer Stantec tower, JW Marriott, and arguably the best new arena in the NHL.
Calgary has the most impressive downtown per capita in North America, but since oil crashed around 2014 the downtown office vacancy rate is still hovering around 32%!
Both Calgary and Edmonton have very ambitious LRT expansions as well.
