It is always difficult to make such comparisons particularly because the various sources of information are often problematic. Fortunately, in Atlanta, in the Atlanta subsection, we have a very good record keeper on buildings under construction in the city and a good record of buildings being planned. There is such a mixture of construction activity in the ATL metro that keeping track of it is a challenge. I am sure that this is the case elsewhere. So city comparisons are always a challenge.
In addition, there are not good definitions of building height and size for comparisons. E.g. as in many places there are many apartment complexes being constructed that are wood on concrete parking platforms that are very large and usually 5 floors over the platform. These are ubiquitous and add many apartments to the city, but they are not really highrises.
