Even though I'm firmly a 'soccer' guy and have little to no interest in hockey, I definitely appreciate a bit of the Stomper.

For interest in the World Cup, I think a summertime tournament would benefit the game in Canada as there could be tie ins with outdoor games, outdoor viewing parties, the Tim Bits leagues are in full force in the summer etc. But no, we have the tournament in November/December in a location with little to no home based history of the game in a location that has a terrible human rights record and many people have perished to build a number of stadiums that far outweigh the population that would ever use them.
