Agreed with the above criticism. The new addition looks a bit dated and would benefit from a better relationship to the podium, through some red accents or even vertical fins that emulate the original grid at the bottom.
On another note, i could've sworn i saw the lighting feature being tested on the new addition about a week ago. The horizontal bands were changing colours though i couldn't snap a picture as i was driving.
