As part of the Manhattan Project, the nuclear bomb was partly created at the of The University of Chicago's Met Lab - located under Stagg Field (their football stadium). This stadium was on UC's campus.
Fun side fact, Big Bertha, The University of Texas' bass drum, was commissioned by UC (in 1922) for their band. And, when their football program was disbanded, it was stored under their stadium's bleachers (Stagg Field). During the Manhattan Project, the drum was contaminated by radiation from experimentation.
UT bought the drum for $1 in mid-1950's - when UC decided to raze Stagg Field.
