From an urbanism perspective, it's an awful location for one. That said, there are several large data centers already downtown. The infrastructure in this area for data centers is huge, so it's a no brainer to add additional capacity here.
The geography of the internet is a really fascinating topic and one a lot of people don't consider when thinking about the internet; most of us interact with it on our phones or computers. We rarely think about the physical infrastructure associated with it.
