I guess my issue with accelerating beforehand is that I’ll have to commit to passing (unless that’s when braking comes in handy if something goes wrong). I’m the type where I will veer left to see if there’s oncoming traffic (assuming that the roadway is straight) and won’t go unless it’s all clear.

At the traffic light of 17 and Forest Lea Road, on the other side, I saw a pickup use the left turn lane to get ahead of a big rig. (It was red light for Highway 17.) I was like, “Lol I get it.” Behind that truck was a line of 10+ cars...
