Compared to the Chinatown gateway this think looks like something rendered out of scraps at a construction material scrapyard.

Maybe it's not the gateway itself but the fact that from many angles it appears to be a 'gateway to nothing' that bothers me more than anything. It does look great in that rendering. Oh, and how are these not bowling pins??
