Actually, Brooklyn had a real "anchor" on its skyline for decades, the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower. It anchored Brooklyn the same way the Empire State Building anchored Manhattan. 9 Dekalb is a worthy successor for the 21st century!

I just looked it up and it's a gorgeous building. As a Canadian living a seven hour drive away who has visited Manhattan 15 or so times and flown through Newark/JFK/La Guardia dozens of times and stared out the windows of planes and lounges I have never noticed it unfortunately. I feel like 9 Dekalb would be something different however, it would be visible from afar and attract the eye to Brooklyn. That's why I am calling it a 'real anchor'. I'll make sure to visit both buildings when 9 Dekalb is finished!
