Better if DK's economic revival plan for future includes a plan on how to convert unorganized jobs to organized jobs so that we can get enough supply of migrant workers resources for permanent settlement here.

One worrying issue is all who died due to virus in DK are women. It was predicted that more male will die due to drinking and smoking habits. We can not say this difference is due to age as there were men also of the same age group. Otherwise only difference between women and men is men get exposed to sun more than women.

Whether Mangaluru is conducting any rapid antibody-based blood tests (serology tests) that can give some hints whether a person with Covid-19 spread it and then got self-healed without exhibiting any symptoms 1 2 3 and assuming that antibodies' life has not expired. Whether good rapid test kits are available in DK? Or whether there is ICMR approved laboratory facility in Tulunadu to conduct such tests without kits?

So, anticipate Mangaluru and Bantwal taluks to be orange zones and rest of DK is green zone after May 3. How many new checkposts will come up at taluk borders? What about porous borders? Whether Mangaluru fishermen go and fish in Udupi water? What next - hobli level?

Why it is tested in tier-I cities? Can't it be tested in tier-II cities? By funding projects in tier-I cities the politicians & bureaucrats have shown their concern about welfare of real estate mafia of tier-I cities at the time of crisis also. Dakshina Kannada population is falling due to out-migration to tier-I cities at the same time we have in-migration issue that is not leading to increase in population as it is just floating population. We need to have a plan for creating permanent jobs for migrants and letting them to settle here permanently. Otherwise we will also become a burden on country like tier-I cities. The funny economic statistics have created a myth that megacities earn more GDP to the country than others. But I say if population & economic distribution done properly then the country can earn & save more than what these statistics show now and in addition environmental cost will be reduced.

What we need is activities to be monitored by parents (better if even teachers can monitor) and an app to monitor student activities during screen time. Or limited password permission to use mobile for an app and the app to allow a list of permitted websites or links (and numbers those can be dialed?), and parent or teacher should be able to update the list. App having both features (limited permission with monitoring) is the best option - a teacher can assign works and monitor how much time a student spent on it.

Every technology has loopholes, those loopholes have to be fixed instead of rejecting the technology. But till the loopholes are fixed educationists & parents have to worry.

Referring to the arrival of persons stranded abroad, Mr. Poojary said that passengers hailing from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi can be quarantined in Mangaluru, while other passengers, after screening, can be sent to their respective places for quarantine.

Where will they be quarantined? Is there enough space for quarantining all 2,000 (minus undivided DK) in Wenlock Hospital? Or will they be quarantined in hotels?

Deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha has instructed officials to collect details of labourers from outstation states. If people of other states have to come to Udupi, they have to come according to the direction of that particular state government. Primary discussions are held with regard to the testing of such people when they enter the district, check post procedures and where to quarantine them.

Udupi does not have its own Coronavirus testing laboratory and the DC wants to invite problems again so early! But if it is one time travel then it is fine - Govt. to allow one-time travel but Udupi should keep demanding for testing laboratory.
