Diving through old news prints reveals Travelstead was originally to be something like "150 stories" before they settled on the tapered 1080' design which was ultimately cancelled. Surely that would be fanciful even with the new rezoning, let alone 35 odd years ago? I've always taken "storeys" as simply a rough measure of height corresponding to 10 feet per storey myself, and not in the sense of of 1 storey = 1 floor. That would still have yielded the world's tallest building at the time.
