Honestly this is a very poor way to frame the abortion issue. To me its always been about what constitutes human life and what constitutes murder. Pro life activists make some really good points and despite being for abortion it doesn't make me happy being so. In the end an abortion results in so much wasted potential, its not a happy occasion. While I wouldn't say its killing, we are wiping out someones existence and all the potential that goes with it. Its really not something to cheer about and I'm surprised doctors at abortion clinics don't have higher suicide rates.
I truly do hope someday that we will be able to just transfer it to a test tube to go into our adoption system so they can live a happy life with a family that wants them. Just because you don't want to subject women to pregnancy doesn't mean you don't feel for the fetus as well. Sometimes issues aren't so clear cut and both options are bad ones. Many people that are pro life aren't saying women don't have a right over their bodies, its just that they can't allow someone to be murdered. For many a pregnancy is a living human being, and we can pretend to be all scientific but we have to accept that most religions see it as a life.
In the end to many its the equivalent of strangling a baby. I think 99% of us would actively seek to stop this no matter what other people say. So I don't blame the pro life crowd, I totally understand why they feel the way they do and they feel it so strongly because its natural to feel that way about killing a child.
