I mentioned a few weeks ago that a new shelter had been installed at Greenboro Station, near the Park and Ride. The shelter was large, two panes of glass deep by 5 wide, with a single framed opening in the middle and electrical boxes installed at the back. Initial speculation was that it might be a waiting room for the casino shuttle.
Recently, work seems to have wrapped up on it. A single door has been hung in the opening, and six post and ring bike racks installed inside. The door has an electronic lock and contactless card reader on it, creating a secure bike room. I haven't heard any news about this, but it seems like it would be an interesting trial. I know Greenboro, Trim and Innovation are the three stations in the initial Bike to Transit initiative, I wonder if this is related.
