If it's anything like the retractable lower-bowl seating at Harbour Station in SJ, then each tier will have seats that collapse forward to just barely fit into the gap between it and the tier above. Then they roll in (wheels on the bottom) to stack up vertically into a space the depth of a single seating tier. Not unlike the way wooden bleachers collapse into a straight stack, just with the added step of the seats folding forward along the way.
