In the aerial, the freight building seems to have a nice façade
- not unlike the way the old CP and CN facades on the old Pier BC and D(?)
presented a formal building that hid the transportation uses behind.
(or, I guess, like any other train station)

I wonder if there are any pics of it from the front?
I wonder if its demolition was related to the construction of the Pender diversion (to Keefer) [EDIT: The diversion was east of Carrall, so no]
