While the points may have been made in a condescending way, it doesn't reduce the validity of the points. Personally, I find Rogers Place to be very aesthetically pleasing but also find modern urban design in general to be leaving a lot to be desired. Just the other day Jan Gehl was criticizing urban design in new parts of Copenhagen and calling for more Jane Jacobs-like thinking. All that being said, I think it is an issue we are seeing in Calgary and Toronto in addition to the ICE District.
