The patios were always a huge hit in the summer months and drew big crowds, but I think things started to go a bit far when some of the pubs were renovated and morphed into clubs. I was really surprised to see that when I came back to this area in 2006 (after only 6 years living away).

Hopefully the future brings some better balance.
Okay, so it was more a natural shift than a bad municipal policy?
