I have not set foot on a bus since my school days...and that wasn't yesterday let me tell you. Perhaps I am not qualified to comment, however that hasn't stopped me in the past.

I agree with your "mini rant" on all counts, except maybe the lack of funding. I feel the funding is more than adequate however I question the efficient use of it.

Like you, I wonder why there aren't hubs with better amenities. The Avalon Mall, Village Mall and future hubs (MUN, Downtown...wherever) should be true hubs where you can wait for or transfer to another bus in comfort. Why not lease out space to enterprises to offer beverages and snacks and while you are at it, provide washrooms.

With a proper hub system perhaps some routes could be realigned so that they do go all over town and cross cross each other. I know it is inconvenient and time consuming to transfer however it is also poor rout planning to have buses go from one end of town to the other just to accommodate "single bus" rides.
