UNIBAIL-RODAMCO unveils new "Tours Sisters" planned to replace "Tour Phare"

09/21/2015

Only one week sufficed for Unibail-Rodamco to unveil the project set to replace the "Tour Phare" located on Place Carpeau, behind the CNIT. Instead, the company plans to build two towers named "Sisters" which will span over 1.022.571 square feet. The first tower, which will rise at 657 feet (50+ floors), will offer 807.293 square feet of offices and the second one, a 300-bedroom-4-stars hotel will rise at 328 feet and span over 215.278 square feet. The two towers will be linked at 262 feet of height by a 3-floor bridge housing a spa, a restaurant, a cinema and an open air garden.

Christian de Portzamparc was chosen to take over. {...} The new project will be less expensive, costing 630 million € instead of the 900 million € planned for "Tour Phare".

Unibail-Rodamco which hopes to be able to inaugurate these towers in 2021 plans to file the construction permit application at the beginning of 2016. The company assures that if the administrative procedures would not go through or if any other major problems came in the way, they would go back to the "Tour Phare" project which has a permit still valid for four more years.
