There's also one in Portland, OR (not necessarily a good example to follow), Burnaby is planning for one, and there are several other examples in other countries. I'm curious as to what people think the downsides would be here.

You can continue to be sarcastic if that's what gets you off but I'm actually hoping for (ideally constructive) criticism at this point.
