I was just browsing the retail job listings on the interweb (which often gives clues as to what might be going on down the road), and
Mode Choc has a couple of new job listings on line. This would tend to suggest that they are not planning on imminently closing. Maybe they'll wait and see what happens during the Christmas season before deciding, or maybe the rumour was spurious to begin with.
In any event, I was at the Mapleton Centre on the weekend to go to PetSmart, and it was actually difficult finding a good parking spot!
The main cause of this activity seemed to be Party City and DSW. Both stores were
very busy, but there was a lot of spillover to other tenants as well. In particular, I think Banana Republic and Osh Kosh both were seeing increased traffic.
