It's a economic advantage to the city. It happens to be an economic advantage to them because they've been there for 70 years. Should they be punished for their success? This is ridiculous. Is there an area in the city that you guys might accept doesn't require that every building be mixed use and built to the curb? Come on already. There's ideology and then there's reality. Let's not get hung up on what you read in a textbook somewhere. If this built form was so transformative and fail-safe, these areas never would have declined into the state they're in. We're talking about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic at this point.
