I suspect that hearing the same old drumbeat about development being too tall or shadows, traffic, think of the children, etc. does wear thin on even the most polite of planning staff. Especially when there is little to no constructive dialogue on alternatives that could be done in its place. It's worn thin on me and I don't even work in a planning capacity.
