A city planner was on CBC saying the application wasn't formally withdrawn, but that the city is retaining the application materials while continuing to negotiate with the developer. Seems to be a negotiating tactic by the developer to get some concessions out of the new mayor/counsel.
On another note, the receiver for Sopa Square is back in court this week trying to get its proposed sale process approved, using the Aquilini bid as a benchmark.
