Esplanade will include a hotel, shops, and restaurants.
This is the second planned expansion of the mall submitted this year. Separate plans for a new three-story wing were submitted by Aventura Mall earlier this year, which would make the mall the second-largest in the U.S. behind The Mall Of America in Minneapolis.
