i have heard montreal italians make fun of ottawa italians by putting on a corny, "hoser"-type accent (and by saying they are "basically not italian at all," i guess because they don't have a big, st-leo/woodbridge-type "home base.")
the funny thing, italians say the same thing about all italian-americans/canadians. i was at a dinner a few months ago where a couple from new york were explaining "jersey shore" to a guy from vicenza, telling him what a guido is and all ("i hope this isn't, like, offensive, but..."). he was perplexed, and said something like "really, don't worry. none of this has anything to do with me."
also: "marry" and "merry" are different to me. the first one has more of a short a, like "ah", "m-ah-rry" but the second is like "air"... "m-air-ry".
