Hale Center theater is deplorable in every aspect when it comes to their business practices. So this debacle with West Valley is no surprise. We're talking about a theater that was for-profit and the most financially successful "community" theater in the country (because they refuse to pay their actors and crew fair wages, but give the family of owners a new car every season) that suddenly decided to become non-profit and collect huge amounts of tax payer money when the ZAP tax was created. Now with hundreds of thousands of money from ZAP awarded to them every year, they still don't pay their people shit and still provide company cars and other major perks to the owning family. So stabbing WVC in the back is just being consistent with how they do things. But hey, they produce gushy, watered-down, wholesome, family-friendly theater, so they must be righteous in all that they do.
