A 4-mile walk through DC neighborhoods on a pleasant winter Sunday
This past Sunday was a perfect winter day in DC. It was sunny, blue-sky, sweater weather. It was a nice break after the chill of the polar vortex. So I took a walk.
One of the last dilapidated buildings left on 14th Street. It won't last long.
This kind of messiness is rare in DC. A legitimate criticism, I think.
HailO is an app that lets you hail regular taxies via smartphone. It's a response to Uber. I much prefer it, although in central DC it's usually easier to just stick your arm out anyway.
New Jersey Avenue.
North Capitol Street, which separates the NW quadrant from the NE quadrant. Unfortunately a bit of a highway.
We don't have skyline vistas in DC, but we have this.
Northeast isn't as charming as central Northwest.
But the infill there's not bad. These last 3 pictures are all buildings under construction now.
