The five-level mid-rise residential seems to be a popular phenomenon (I'm in one in Fort Worth). Several of them have gone up in Houston as well. I guess there is something to be said about the college dormitory with the built-in garage; it has appeal to younger professionals in their 20's and 30's. The best of these will have retail on the first floor and will be close to transit.
