Groundbreaking is scheduled for Monday in Chesterfield for Reinsurance Group of America's new headquarters on Swingley Ridge Road.
RGA officials say the expanded HQ will have two five-story buildings joined by a two-story atrium. Clayco is the contractor that will build the structure on the 17-acre site. Completion is scheduled for next year.
The company says it will eventually add more than 300 new jobs in the St. Louis area. RGA currently employs 730 people who work in buildings in Chesterfield and St. Charles.
In addition to offices, the new RGA headquarters will have a café seating 500 people, a 2,500-square-foot fitness facility and below-ground parking. The complex will be about two miles west of RGA's current headquarters in leased space.
In November, Chesterfield and St. Louis County officials said that to help pay for the $150 million project, RGA was seeking breaks on county real estate and personal property taxes.
